Chris Greig is the Theodora D. ’78 and William H. Walton III ’74 Senior Research Scientist at the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University. He has a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Queensland and is a fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering. He also serves on the Sustainability Advisory Council for Dow Chemical Company, the Board of Australia’s Future Energy Exports CRC. His research is interdisciplinary and deeply collaborative with industry, focusing on overcoming the most critical challenges to mobilizing decarbonization infrastructure at speed and scale. He co-led Princeton’s influential Net-Zero America study and is leading Princeton’s collaborations on similar studies in rapidly growing Asian countries. Prior to academia, Chris spent 3 decades working in the private sector across four continents, firstly as a successful company founder, and then as a senior executive in the energy and resources sector.
The GCC Chief Negotiator, the Chief Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Planning, a faculty member in the Economic Division at Prince Saud Alfaisal Institute for Diplomatic Studies, and an Expert at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He plays a pivotal role in advancing economic security as a cornerstone of national security strategy.
Previously, he served as the President of the Gulf Monetary Council (GMCO) and as an Economic Advisor at the IMF in Washington, D.C., where he was responsible for private sector policies across the Middle East and Central Asia, leading IMF missions to Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He also held the position of Minister Plenipotentiary and Head of the Monetary Union Unit at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Dr. Almarzoqi boasts extensive consulting experience with major international organizations, government agencies, and private sector entities, including the World Bank, ARAMCO, the General Investment Authority (SAGIA), the Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON), Alkhabeer Capital, Euro Praxis in Spain, among others. He has also served as an independent director on the boards of several investment funds licensed by the Capital Market Authority.
In the academic realm, Dr. Almarzoqi has taught and lectured at premier institutions such as the MIT Sloan School of Management in the USA, Thunderbird School of Global Management, and King Saud University in both undergraduate and graduate programs. He has also conducted training sessions for parliamentarians and Shura Council members across the Middle East and Central Asia.
Dr. Almarzoqi is a prolific author with a rich portfolio of specialized economic studies, research papers, and books on economic integration, monetary union, economic modeling, macroeconomic analysis, monetary and fiscal policies, and international finance. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics (with a supporting specialization in Finance) from Oklahoma State University, an M.A. in Applied Mathematical Economics from the University of Michigan, and a B.A. in Economics from King Saud University.
Peter Feng is the Vice President of Aromatics & Fibers. He is responsible for the North American Aromatics Service and covers the styrene, polystyrene and expandable polystyrene markets in the Americas for Chemical Market Analytics. With over 35 years of experience in various assignments, Peter has a breadth of knowledge in multiple disciplines and products. Peter is a key resource for understanding and insight into the aromatics sector of the petrochemical industry.
Within the Americas, he leads the North American Aromatics Service. While his current area of focus is the products in the styrenics chain, he has covered many of the aromatics products at once. In addition to North American Aromatics, he contributes to several different services and is a key contributor to the World Styrene Analysis, World Polystyrene Analysis and World EPS Analysis.
During his time at Chemical Market Analytics and predecessor companies, he has contributed to several bespoke client studies, including the development of a marketing plan for a new Middle East plant, a site assessment for a U.S. plant, strategic analysis for refineries and chemical plants, strategic purchasing analysis, etc. As a renowned expert, he has been sought after as a testifying expert in numerous legal cases. He is often a guest speaker at various conferences and industry events.
Before his role in market consulting, he worked at Air Products and Sterling Chemicals. He had assignments in Process Engineering/Technology, Information Systems, Projects, Environmental, Supply Chain and Commercial teams during this time. Peter Feng has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Chemical Engineering from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston.
Sarah has built and led global businesses across news, data, analytics, advisory, and events, partnering with customers in energy, commodities, financial institutions, corporates, and governments. She has held senior leadership roles at some of the most respected media and information brands, including S&P Global, Bloomberg, CNBC, and ICIS (RELX). She joins Dow Jones Energy to lead the entire energy, chemical, and environmental commodities business, including OPIS and its business lines: Chemical Market Analytics, McCloskey, PetroChem Wire, Axxis, A2i, and Eco-Movement.
Her career began in journalism as a markets reporter for Dow Jones in Singapore, covering commodities across Asia Pacific. She went on to lead global energy coverage from London and to report on telecoms, media, and technology from Paris for the newswires and The Wall Street Journal. These experiences built the subject-matter expertise and international perspective that have informed her transition into executive leadership, where she consistently combines editorial integrity with strategic vision and commercial growth.
Prior to joining Dow Jones, Sarah held senior general management positions at S&P Global, bringing together global teams through transformation spanning integration, technology, and culture. She scaled data, insight, and advisory businesses, introduced new commercial strategies, and advanced product modernization, helping customers navigate complex markets and make better-informed decisions.
Her extensive background equips her with a deep understanding of the complex markets Dow Jones Energy serves, as well as the critical importance of reliable data for our customers.
Tom Asselman is currently SVP Strategy & Chief Strategy Officer at OMV, which he joined January 2022. He moved from Borealis, the chemical subsidiary of OMV, where he spent 19 years. His last role was VP Strategy & Group Development and member of the Executive Committee, responsible for leading Borealis’ strategy development, mergers & acquisitions and sustainability & public affairs. He was a board member of the Baystar joint venture with TotalEnergies in Texas.
Previously he led the development of growth projects in our hydrocarbons-to-polyolefins value chain globally as leader of New Ventures since 2014. Tom led the creation of the Baystar joint venture in the USA with TotalEnergies and NOVA Chemicals, which built an ethane cracker and a polyethylene plant based on Borealis’ BorstarTM technology. He spent six years in the UAE as Vice President Middle East & Asia, managing Borealis’ interests in its fast-growing Borouge joint ventures with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) as board member and asset manager, where two mega projects of ~ 5 BUSD, Borouge 2 (2010) and Borouge 3 (2014) where constructed and started up during his tenure.
He held several positions in the Polyolefins business and Corporate Strategy group since joining Borealis in 2002. Before joining Borealis he was a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Montreal.
Tom is a Belgian and Canadian citizen, holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, a MSc in Chemical Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal, and a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Brussels (VUB).
Jeremy Wallach is a partner in McKinsey’s Boston office in the Chemicals Practice. He is a leader in McKinsey’s work on chemicals sustainability, including circularity and decarbonization, and helps lead the firm’s chemical insights microeconomics group. He has more than 20 years of experience advising management teams across regions on topics linked to strategy, growth, M&A, and sustainability.
Jeremy leads the firm’s work on plastic recycling in North America, including helping clients build businesses and evaluate opportunities in sustainable polymers. In particular, he has extensive experience in plastic circularity and chemicals sustainability. He has published perspectives and led speaking engagements in these areas in addition to providing client support on market demand, economics, feedstock availability, green premiums, system-level scaling opportunities, steps to reduce leakage into the environment, and carbon impact.
Since June 2022, he held the position of a Member of the Management Board of Qemetica. responsible for the strategy and business transformation. Kamil Majczak has been associated with the Qemetica since 2018, when he took the position of Strategy Director at Qemetica responsible for formulating and implementing the Group’s strategy. In 2020-2021, he simultaneously held the office of the President of the Management Board of Qemetica Żywice and a Member of the Management Board of Qemetica Ventures, a company focusing primarily on cooperation with young businesses developing modern technologies related to chemistry, sustainable industry and agriculture.
So far, his most important achievements at CIECH have been: preparation of the Group’s strategy for 2019-2021 and 2022-2024 as well as support in their implementation, coordination of activities related to improved efficiency in the soda business (digitisation), preparation of a plan to modernise energy sources in accordance with the adopted ESG Strategy, as well as a review of the Group’s businesses, including the sale of the Qemetica Żywice business for PLN 160 million in 2021. Between 2018 and 2021, he was employed at Kulczyk Investments.
Professional Experience
From 2018 to 2021, Kamil Majczak also worked for Kulczyk Investments. His previous professional experience includes working for the strategic consulting firm Bain & Company in Warsaw and Melbourne from 2014 to 2018, as well as for the advisory firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in London from 2012 to 2014.

Kamil Majczak is a graduate of a master-degree programme in economics at the University of Cambridge and a bachelor-degree programme in economics at the Warsaw School of Economics.
Ryan Murphy is Senior Manager for Financial and Physical NGLs and Petrochemicals at ICE. Since joining ICE in 2013, he has held roles across the Trade Vault, eConfirm, Connect/XL, and Exchange teams, building deep expertise in Dodd-Frank regulatory requirements and electronic trading technology. Prior to ICE, Ryan spent three years at Macquarie, where he focused on commodities markets.
Ryan earned his degree from the University of Houston in 2009.
André Wilkie is Associate Director, Strategy & Integration within XRG’s Global Chemicals platform, where he leads strategy development, integration, value creation initiatives and serves as Chief of Staff to the President, Global Chemicals. Previously, André played a central role in ADNOC and XRG’s chemical M&A activity, including the creation of Borouge Group International, the acquisition of Nova Chemicals, and the acquisition of control of Fertiglobe plc. He also worked within ADNOC’s low-carbon hydrogen team, leading clean ammonia feasibility studies. Before joining ADNOC, André was with Boston Consulting Group’s Energy practice in the Middle East, advising across oil & gas, chemicals and utilities. He holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Bachelor of Arts, Honors Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University, Canada.
Matthew Thoelke is the vice president of the olefins and derivatives team in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at Chemical Market Analytics. During his time with the company, he has taken a wide variety of roles across a broad range of product areas. With over 25 years of experience, Matthew is a key resource within the business for understanding and insight into the olefins sector of the petrochemical industry.
Within the EMEA region, he works closely with the petrochemical, oil and financial industries, bringing support and guidance throughout the petrochemical chain. His current area of focus includes oversight of the ‘Europe and the Middle East Olefins Report’ and primary input and insight for the ‘World Ethylene and Propylene Analyses.’
His prior experience includes coverage of butadiene and elastomers, for which he remains a globally recognized industry speaker and expert. Whilst in this role, Mathew was responsible for the ‘Global Outlook — Feedstocks, Elastomers Report’ and the ‘World Butadiene Analysis’ and took the lead role in analyzing olefin and derivative markets in support of the long-term planning outlooks in the World Analysis.
Mr. Thoelke has both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in Materials Science from Cambridge University, as well as a Diploma in Manufacturing Engineering (ACDMM).
Mr. Knopp is CEO and Co-Founder of Citroniq Chemicals, an industry leader in the development of sustainable plastics. He has over 40 years of experience in the Refining, Midstream, Petrochemicals and Plastics industries. His experience includes leading international sales teams, building sales & marketing strategies for new products and regions, directing new business development and improving sales teams through focused customer engagement. He has served in leadership roles for NOVA Chemicals, Williams Energy, Koch Industries and Phillips 66 Company. Mr. Knopp holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Kansas and MBA from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.
Stan Chen is the Founder & CEO of Sinansys, a volatility advantage platform designed to help petrochemical and energy companies preserve margin and capital flexibility during periods of geopolitical disruption, shipping instability, and structural oversupply. Sinansys focuses on decision-timing intelligence – mapping how constraints converge across feedstocks, logistics, contracts, and operating rates, and identifying the last reversible moment to act before options collapse.
With extensive roots in industrial recycling and materials markets and a background in information technology, Stan bridges commodity-cycle reality with advanced scenario modeling and resilient supply chain strategy. His work helps producers and portfolio leaders stress-test assets across market and policy futures, protect utilization under disruption, and convert volatility from a threat into a strategic advantage.
Chatri Eamsobhana is the Chief Commercial Officer of SCG Chemicals Public Company Limited (SCGC), a leading integrated chemical company in Southeast Asia. He leads commercial strategy, market development, and customer engagement, supporting SCGC’s growth and sustainability agenda.
With decades of experience in the petrochemical and chemical industries, Mr. Chatri has a deep understanding of the Southeast Asian market and regional value chains, complemented by strong global perspective. His previous roles include Chief Financial Officer and Vice President – Regional at SCG Chemicals, Managing Director of multiple SCG subsidiaries, and Operations Vice President Director at PT Chandra Asri Petrochemical Tbk, where he contributed to operational excellence and regional expansion.
Mr. Chatri holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University and an MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Miami. He has further strengthened his global business outlook through executive programs at Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, Duke Corporate Education, and the Thai Institute of Directors.
Amy Kozel is a Senior R&D Engineer for Integrated Energy Systems at NuScale, with a background in chemical engineering. Since joining NuScale Power in 2022, she has been exploring opportunities to utilize NuScale’s nuclear power and process heat capabilities for the chemical and oil & gas industries. Amy leads NuScale’s integration projects for Ammonia, Methanol, Hydrogen production and has authored publications in these areas.
Prior to joining NuScale, Amy worked for over 20 years at Dow Chemical Co. and its legacy joint ventures Dow Corning Corp. and Hemlock Semiconductor Corp. She has held a variety of roles in Manufacturing and Process R&D and has technical and functional expertise in all key aspects of the operation and optimization of large volume, highly integrated chemical processes.
Ted brings more than 37 years of proven expertise in the chemical and energy industries, including his tenure as President of Arcanum Infrastructure from its inception to his transition to the Board of Directors in 2025. Before joining Arcanum, he spent 17 years with Evonik Corporation, where he held senior leadership roles such as Senior Vice President of Corporate Growth & Development for North America—launching and managing the Evonik Oil & Gas Group, overseeing the company’s chemical park strategy, and driving petrochemical expansion in C4. His earlier positions included Vice President of the C4 Chemistry Business, encompassing butene‑1, and President and General Manager of Degussa Initiators, Evonik’s U.S. division. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to advancing industrial growth and innovation.
Matt serves as Chief Executive Officer of Arcanum Infrastructure, assuming the role in July 2025 following a distinguished 22-year career at ExxonMobil. His extensive background spans both the Fuels and Chemicals sectors, with senior positions in operations, business and project management, strategy development, and commercial leadership. While at ExxonMobil, he held key roles including Global Product Manager for Specialty Fluids & Solvents, Project Planning Manager for the grassroots linear alpha olefins investment in Baytown, Texas, Regional Commercial Manager for C4/C5 Olefins, Global Venture Manager for Proxxima™, a proprietary engineered polymer, and M&A Manager overseeing a major business divestment in Europe. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana‑Champaign and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
David Badal is the Managing Director and Global Head of Chemical at Morgan Stanley. David joined Morgan Stanley in 2013. He spent 14 years as a Chemicals Investment Banker at JPMorgan. Prior to JPMorgan, David was a Chemical Engineer, managing the day-to-day operations of two chemicals facilities for Monsanto at its Chocolate Bayou facility in Alvin, Texas for 4 years.
David received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis with cum laude honors. He completed his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.
Carlo Barrasa is the Vice President of Energy Insights at OPIS, A Dow Jones Company
In this role, Carlo stewards the development of energy market content to help OPIS’ clients navigate the complexities of the oil, gas & natural gas liquids markets. Previously, Carlo led the North American Light Olefins service, which provides clients with valuable insights into the regional market dynamics of cracker feedstocks, ethylene, and propylene.
Before joining OPIS, Carlo was a Senior Strategy Advisor at Anadarko Petroleum, where he was responsible for guiding the company’s market strategy for its natural gas liquids business. After beginning his career in various downstream and chemical roles with ExxonMobil, Carlo held senior consulting and research positions at IHS Markit legacy companies PFC Energy and CMAI.
Sameer S. Bharadwaj is the Chief Executive Officer of Orbia. With more than 20 years of experience, Sameer is a strategic leader with a track record of fostering business growth through technology-led innovation, operational excellence and talent development across the advanced materials, technology, energy and pharmaceutical industries.
Prior to assuming the role of CEO in 2021, Sameer served as President of the Orbia Polymer Solutions and Fluor & Energy Materials business groups. He joined Orbia in 2016 to steer the company’s compounds business, subsequently taking on leadership of the Polymer Solutions and Fluor & Energy Materials businesses and bringing Orbia’s fluorine-based and PVC and vinyl polymer solution portfolios to competitive market positions and global teams to high levels of performance.
Before joining Orbia, Sameer held numerous executive leadership positions over the course of an 11-year tenure at Cabot Corporation, most recently as Vice President and General Manager, where he steered go-to-market strategy and commercialization of new technologies with a key focus on the energy and materials spaces. Prior to that, Sameer worked as a strategy consultant for The Boston Consulting Group, where he served clients in the metals, telecommunications, technology, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. He started his career as a senior research engineer at The Dow Chemical Company.
Sameer has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a Ph.D in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Bombay, Department of Chemical Technology (now ICT).
Deon Carter, Vice President & President, Chlor Alkali Products & Vinyls is a Corporate Officer and serves as a member of Olin Corporation’s Executive Leadership Team reporting to Olin President & CEO Kenneth T. Lane.
Before joining Olin in June 2024, Deon was Chief Operating Officer of Continental Industries Group since April 2023. Earlier, he served as President and CEO of Scientific Design Company. Deon started his career in the chemical industry at Engelhard Corporation, where he held various international positions. Following the acquisition of Engelhard by BASF, Deon served as General Manager of Global Polyolefin Catalysts and was later promoted to Vice President of Oil Refining Catalyst. He then served as Senior Vice President of Precious Metals before assuming the role of Senior Vice President of Performance Chemicals.
Deon holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of
Cape Town in South Africa.
Chuck Carr is Vice President of the strategic team at Chemical Market Analytics.
Chuck is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the global chemical supply/demand analytics and World Analysis publications. Prior to his current position, he was the global business leader for the Inorganics team, senior director of Global Olefins, and service leader for the North American Light Olefins Market Advisory Service at Chemical Market Analytics. His focus for the past 10 years has primarily been on olefins and the analysis of the propylene and propylene derivatives markets for hundreds of global customers.
Chuck’s expertise encompasses the oil and gas and chemicals industries, including refinery engineering/operations, purchasing, plastics logistics, and olefins commercial activities. Prior to joining the IHS Markit base chemicals business (now known as Chemical Market Analytics) in 2011, he served as director of propylene studies in the olefins group of Chemical Market Associates, Inc. Adrian Cooper is responsible for coordinating and managing Oxford Economics’ global economic analysis, forecasting and consultancy activities, and overseeing its global team of over 450 professionals including 300 economists and analysts. He has led Oxford Economics’ work on a wide array of consultancy projects, ranging from policy advice to government departments in Europe, the US, Africa, and Asia to detailed analysis of the economic impact of particular industries and investment proposals.
Adrian spent the first seven years of his career with HM Treasury, England. During this time, he worked on the analysis of tax and other economic policy changes as part of the preparations for the UK Budget. He was also the coordinator of the government’s macroeconomic forecast for two years.

With more than 25 years of experience in the international trade industry, including expertise in global freight forwarding, road freight, express and parcel, shipping, customs brokerage, contract logistics and airline catering, he has held senior positions with Lufthansa, Deutsche Post DHL, Exel and DB Schenker.
During his time at Fedex, Dr Lange held several leadership roles, including president of Healthcare, Logistics and Americas International at FedEx Express, where he led a team of more than 50,000 in over 80 countries. During Covid-19 he was appointed to the White House task force on supply chain disruption.

In his 25-year long career in BASF he deepened his expertise in Marketing and Strategy for several businesses and in Investor Relations. Martin holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Cedric Lienhart serves as Global Vice President Resins at Amcor, where he leads the company’s worldwide procurement strategy for resin raw materials, including polyethylene, polypropylene, PET, and masterbatch.

During a career spanning 30 + years in the refining and chemical industry, Steve has experience across the spectrum of refining and petrochemical hydrocarbon value chains covering various financial, strategic, technical and commercial roles. Before his move to Chemical Market Analytics, Steve was Senior Manager of Base Chemicals at TOTAL Petrochemicals & Refining, Inc. In that capacity, he managed the P&L of the base chemicals business, including joint venture relationships, strategic guidance to the partnerships, plant operational interfaces, project development, and commercial responsibility for olefin and aromatic monomers, including styrene.
Before the Base Chemical Senior Manager role, Steve had increasing responsibilities within the Petrochemical business at TOTAL. The latest assignment was overseas, in Brussels, Belgium, where he was responsible for the Global Aromatics long-term commercial business activity. The assignment included P&L responsibility and strategic project development for TOTAL worldwide. Before the Belgian assignment, he worked as manager of the US aromatics business. Before 2000, Steve was involved in the refining and fuels side of the Hydrocarbon chain both for what was then FINA Oil and Chemical and for Star Enterprise (a joint venture between Texaco and Saudi Aramco), working as a process engineer, optimization engineer, fuels blending optimizer, branded/unbranded fuels marketing and supply lead, and in a business development role.

As President and CEO of AutoForecast Solutions LLC (AFS), Joe leverages his decades of industry experience and knowledge to provide production forecasting and advisory services to the global automotive community. Joe manages the automotive turnkey operations at AFS including the global light vehicle, powertrain, drivetrain, and alternative propulsion forecast as well as a suite of AFS proprietary opportunity and sales planning software. AFS supports all tiered suppliers, VMs, government agencies, financial institutions, and the academic community with data, planning solutions, and a personalized support to help identify new business opportunities while mitigating risk.
Joe’s 25+ year career in automotive forecasting ranges from his tenure at AutoFacts, PwC, AutomotiveCompass, and now as founder of AutoForecast Solutions LLC (AFS). Joe earned his Bachelors of Chemical Engineering degree at Villanova University and an MBA at Pennsylvania State University.
Kenneth B. Medlock III, Ph.D., is the James A. Baker, III, and Susan G. Baker Fellow in Energy and Resource Economics at the Baker Institute and the senior director of the Center for Energy Studies. He is also the director of the Masters of Energy Economics program, and he holds adjunct professor appointments in the Department of Economics and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rice University. Medlock is also a Distinguished Fellow at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan; he is a member of the Advisory Board of the Payne Institute at the Colorado School of Mines; and he is a member of the Advisory Committee of the KAPSARC School of Public Policy. In 2012-2013, Medlock held the prestigious Haydn Williams Fellowship at Curtin University in Perth, Australia.
Medlock teaches advanced courses in energy economics and supervises Ph.D. students in the energy economics field. He has published numerous scholarly articles in his primary areas of interest, which include natural gas markets, electricity markets, energy commodity price relationships, transportation, national oil company behavior, economic development and energy demand, energy use and the environment, and various energy transitions topics ranging from engineered and nature-based carbon capture to hydrogen to the economic drivers of technology adoption. He has testified multiple times on Capitol Hill on U.S. energy exports and electricity market evolution, has spoken at OPEC, and is frequently asked to speak about global and domestic energy issues.
Medlock is the past vice president for conferences for the United States Association for Energy Economics (USAEE), and he previously served as vice president for academic affairs. In 2001, he won (joint with Ron Soligo) the International Association for Energy Economics Award for Best Paper of the Year in the Energy Journal. In 2011, he was given the USAEE’s Senior Fellow Award, and in 2013 he accepted the USAEE’s Adelman-Frankel Award for the Center for Energy Studies. In 2019, Medlock was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for the Advancement of the Education of Future Energy Leaders by the Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah Foundation. In 2025, he received the OPEC Award for Research in recognition of “a career dedicated to the objective study and balanced analysis of the energy sector.” He is also an active member of the American Economic Association and is an academic member of the National Petroleum Council. Medlock has also served as an advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy and the California Energy Commission in their respective energy modeling efforts.
Medlock received his Ph.D. in economics from Rice University in May 2000.
Marco Mensink is Director General of CEFIC since May 1st, 2016, and one of the leading industry advocates in Europe. With members adding over 655 billion Euro to the EU economy annually and employing 1,2 million workers. Cefic is the largest industry sector representation in Brussels, employing 170 staff. Supporting the Cefic Board of 30 industry CEO’s, Mr. Mensink shapes the strategy and direction of the European chemical industry, uniting more than 22 national federations, 8 associate federations and 650 members and affiliates from all over Europe. A key role in CEFIC is the interaction with Brussels based and global stakeholders. In addition, Mr Mensink has the role of Council Secretary of the International Council of Chemical Industries (ICCA), uniting 95% of global chemical production. For this he actively engages with the US, Chinese, Japanese, Brazilian counterparts of Cefic and the CEOs of the global companies, speaking up for Europe in global UN discussions and conventions.
Marco Mensink has spearheaded the push for a competitive European Industry as a key cornerstone for the European economy, the provider of high-quality jobs for European workers in Europe and the European targets in the Green Deal. Cefic has been the initiator of the two European Industry Summits in Antwerp and the follow up Antwerp Declaration for an Industrial Deal, now signed by over 1300 CEO’s.
Franco Meropiali has a strong international perspective and over 25 years of experience in the chemical industry.
After graduating in Economics and Commerce from the Bocconi University in Milan, he joined EniChem (now Versalis) in 1995.
In the course of his career, he has held various roles, first as Head of Finance at Polimeri Europa, where he consolidated his experience in managing financial, insurance and credit activities. From 2007 to 2016, he was Head of Planning and Control, contributing to the definition and implementation of Versalis’ turnaround plan, and prior to his current position, he was Head of Business Development and Licensing, coordinating international partnership initiatives and M&A operations.
He also serves as a Director of Versalis subsidiaries and investees in Italy and abroad and as Chairman of Eni Insurance in Dublin.
Geoff Moody serves as the American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers’ (AFPM) Senior Vice President of Government Relations & Policy. Geoff leads AFPM’s federal and state advocacy on issues impacting the refining and petrochemical industries, including fuels, environmental regulation, trade, transportation and infrastructure, chemicals management, and tax policy. Geoff started his career on Capitol Hill and has spent more than 15 years working in various policy and energy and environmental advocacy roles. He holds his law degree from the George Mason University School of Law.
Joel Morales is the Vice President of Polyolefins Americas at Chemical Market Analytics.
Joel joined the company in March 2013 to cover Polyethylene (PE) and Polypropylene (PP) in North America. He began his career in 1999 with polyolefins manufacturer Solvay Polymers, which later became Ineos, in technical services and product development before he moved into field sales. After five years at Solvay Polymers, Joel moved into resin distribution sales for both Muehlstein and then United Polychem as a Product Manager, where he managed and sold polyethylene and polypropylene resins into various customer segments. In his most recent role before joining Chemical Market Analytics (CMA), Joel was a purchasing manager for Silgan Plastics, a major blow-molding and injection molding plastics converter. He has brought a wealth of industry knowledge to Chemical Market Analytics through multiple stints along the plastics value chain.
Joel works closely within the Americas with resin producers, converters, and third parties covering the polyolefin markets. Joel speaks regularly around the world as a polyolefin market expert. He is the service leader of three market advisory subscription services: The Global Plastics and Polymers Report, the North American PE Report and the North American PP Report.

His extensive experience in growth strategy and M&A has been pivotal in guiding teams through every stage of deal-making. Chris has a proven track record of building private equity portfolio companies from acquisition to successful exit, leading over 20 due diligences in the plastics sector, and serving as the lead partner on one of the most significant and complex chemical deals in history.
Starting with his graduate school research, Chris leveraged computer modeling to predict material and process properties. More recently, he has been at the forefront of driving B2B growth through AI. While his work includes applying AI in R&D, Chris and his clients have achieved even greater success in AI-powered digital application discovery, commercialization, and marketing. This innovative approach is accelerating growth at an unprecedented pace, transforming development and marketing processes, and redefining the role of business leaders in the industry.
Unmesh Nayak is an industry veteran with over 30 years of experience in Plastics, Rubbers, and Specialty Polymers. He holds a degree in Polymer Technology from MIT, Pune, and a degree in Chemical Engineering from D.J. Sanghavi College of Engineering. Additionally, he earned an MBA in Marketing and Operations from NMIMS, Mumbai.
Nayak has held various leadership roles in sales, marketing, product management, and asset management at BASF and Dow Chemical, working across diverse cultures and geographies in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and the ANZ region.
Currently, he serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Polymer Chain division at Reliance Industries, overseeing Olefins, PE, PP, EO-EG, ACN, and EVA. Outside of his professional achievements, Nayak is a passionate marathon runner who has competed on five continents and aspires to run on all seven. He is married and has a daughter.
Brian Newsome is the Vice President of the Global Chlor-alkali at Chemical Market Analytics, by OPIS
Prior to joining CMA, Brian served in several roles at Westlake Corporation, including as Director of Strategy, Business Manager for Chlorine and Chlorine Derivatives, and Market Manager for Calcium Hypochlorite. He has also previously worked in commercial and technical roles for Kureha Corporation (Japan), Motorola Semiconductor and ExxonMobil LNG. Brian has over 17 years of chemical industry experience including over 13 years of global chlor-alkali and vinyl’s industries experience in marketing, sales and business line management roles. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.
Lars Eirik Nicolaisen has been with Rystad Energy since 2008 and is currently deputy CEO and senior partner, residing in Oslo, Norway. He holds a M.Sc from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has wide experience as an adviser in facilitating strategy processes with stakeholders in the energy industry including energy companies, suppliers and investors/banks. The Energy Transition has been a red thread in this work. Nicolaisen has a particular foothold in the offshore Oil and Gas industry and hereunder a core client base amongst the offshore drillers. He is a seasoned speaker and represents the firm on a wide array of industrial topics at external events.
Anthony J. Palmer is Vice President of Chemical Market Analytics (by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company), where he is responsible for the Circular Plastics & Chemicals Sustainability business within the Base Chemicals & Plastics group. In this role, he coordinates research and insight activities related to carbon emissions and plastics reuse, reduction, and recycling. His work focuses on mechanical and chemical recycling technologies and economics, plastic waste supply and logistics, company ESG initiatives, and strategic responses to sustainability, as well as broader macro-industry implications.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Palmer managed the Chemical Consulting Group at IHS Markit, where he led engagements for clients with interests in the business, technical, and financial aspects of the energy, chemicals, and related process industries. His expertise includes strategic business management, financial and acquisition analysis, technology assessment, capital project planning, manufacturing strategy, international project development, expert witness and litigation support, and material supply strategy.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Palmer worked at CMAI (acquired by IHS Markit in 2011), CPI Consulting Associates, Chem Systems, and Exxon Corporation. He holds both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business from Fordham University in New York, U.S.
In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Palmer is an Adjunct Professor of Management at Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business Administration, where he teaches courses in Strategic Management using the case analysis approach.
Bhavesh V. (Bob) Patel is a transformational business leader with over three decades of experience driving growth, operational excellence, and shareholder value in global industrial and chemical companies. Most recently, he served as President of Standard Industries, overseeing a $12.5 billion portfolio of industrial businesses across building materials and specialty chemicals, and as CEO of W. R. Grace, where he led a major restructuring that enabled the company to significantly increase earnings. Prior to Standard Industries, Bob was CEO of LyondellBasell, where he guided the company from its post-bankruptcy recovery to industry leadership, delivering strong earnings growth, reducing debt, and executing multi-billion-dollar organic and inorganic growth initiatives. His earlier career included senior leadership roles at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company and Chevron. Bob has held leadership roles in all the major regions of the world including the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
Bob holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The Ohio State University and an MBA from Temple University, where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He currently serves on the board of Air Products and is a director of the Houston Branch of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank. His past board service includes Halliburton, Union Pacific Railroad, and chairmanship of the American Chemistry Council. A champion of sustainability and innovation, Bob was a founding member and vice chair of the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and continues to advise leading institutions through his roles on the engineering advisory board at Ohio State and the business advisory board at Temple University.
Dave Pettit, managing editor for strategy and operations of Dow Jones & Co., works with leaders across Dow Jones — including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s Group, Risk & Compliance and OPIS — to develop content initiatives that enhance the reach and influence of Dow Jones journalism. He also oversees content for the Barron’s Roundtable TV show, a collaboration with Fox Business. Previously, he was managing editor of Barron’s Group, where he developed news initiatives and oversaw standards. Before joining Barron’s Group, Dave held senior roles at The Wall Street Journal, most recently editor for editorial ventures. He held a variety of top editorial positions at WSJ.com and was part of the original team that launched the Journal website. He began his career as a reporter, covering Wall Street, investing and securities regulation.
Mark Plamondon is Executive Director of Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association. Mark has over 30 years experience in management, operations, business development, and financial analysis of mineral and refining operations. He has extensive international experience and works to enhance the Heartland’s brand across the globe with investors, governments and stakeholders. Prior to his current role as Executive Director, Mark was Senior Vice President with Sherritt International Corporation, responsible for Sherritt’s nickel mining, processing, and refining operations in Madagascar. His education includes a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alberta and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Alberta’s Industrial Heartland (AIH) is guided by an association of five municipal partners, Alberta’s Industrial Heartland Association (AIHA), which was created in 1999 by the City of Fort Saskatchewan, Lamont County, Strathcona County, and Sturgeon County. José Carlos Pons is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Alpek, where he has developed his career over the past 29 years within Alpek and its former parent company, Alfa. Prior to his current role at Alpek, he held several senior positions at Nemak, including Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Business Unit Director for South America, and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions.

Ascend Performance Materials, focusing on delivering business results, long-term growth
strategies, capital allocation, and M&A activities. Prior to Ascend, he held executive positions at
Eastman Chemical Company. Scott has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from
the University of Tennessee and an MBA in Finance from Auburn University in Alabama.
Ben Scriber, the Director of Natural Gas Liquids and LNG, joined OPIS, A Dow Jones Company, in 2015. With over 20 years of experience in the North American NGL industry, Ben has experienced several bearish and bullish markets, and witnessed the ever-changing evolution of the NGL industry, including the growth of Mont Belvieu and its importance in the global NGL market. Prior to joining OPIS, he was a retail and wholesale supply manager for AmeriGas, the largest propane retailer in North America, and began his career as an analyst for a startup company called Chalkboard, which was then acquired and absorbed into the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). As a balance, Ben also actively serves on the board of the LPG Charity Fund and the Petrochemical Feedstock Association of the Americas.
Justine Smith is executive vice president of commercial at Chevron Phillips Chemical Company.
Smith holds executive responsibility for the company’s commercial product lines, including polymers, specialties and petrochemicals, and the supply chain organization. She also oversees the company’s businesses in Europe and Asia. She is responsible for the supply chain and enterprise readiness functions for the Golden Triangle Polymers joint venture, where she also serves as a board member. Additionally, Smith is the lead board member for Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Saudi Arabia joint ventures.
Smith previously served as senior vice president, petrochemicals, at Chevron Phillips Chemical. Prior to joining the company in 2020, she was vice president of intermediates, amines and specialties for BASF Corporation. During her tenure with BASF, she held numerous roles of increasing responsibility, including vice president of global oilfield solutions; vice president of regional business management plastics additives in Asia Pacific; and head of strategic marketing and projects in Asia Pacific. She began her career with Air Products, where she held various engineering and commercial operations roles.
She currently serves on the board of directors for the Montgomery Country Food Bank.
Smith received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Villanova University.
For many years, Jim Teague has been a leader in the energy and petrochemical industries. Since 1999, Jim has held various executive positions with Enterprise Products and currently serves as Co-Chief Executive Officer and a director of Enterprise GP. Before taking the responsibility of Co-CEO, Jim held several key executive officer roles at Enterprise including Chief Commercial officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer.
Immediately after his college graduation, Jim entered officer candidate school and served our country during the Vietnam War as a member of an attack helicopter squadron and as a Naval intelligence officer. Upon completion of his military service, he joined Dow Chemicals as a pharmaceutical sales representative. After a short period of time Jim was promoted to Dow’s hydrocarbon division where he ultimately became the head of global feedstocks.
Jim’s passion for people, business, and strategy led to his success at both Dow Chemicals and Enterprise Products. For nearly 25 years Jim Teague has played key roles in the vast growth of Enterprise’s footprint and presence in global markets.
Alexandra Tennant is the Director, Global Recycled Plastics Service at Chemical Market Analytics (by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company).
Alexandra is responsible for content regarding market dynamics for recycled plastics within the Base Chemicals & Plastics group. As service lead for the Global Recycled Plastics Service, Alexandra monitors momentum across the recycled plastics value chain in areas such as supply, demand, pricing, regulations, and brand strategies.
Ms. Tennant joined Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS in 2025 and brings over 15 years of experience across the energy and chemicals industry. She is recognized for her expertise in recycled plastics and PET/RPET markets. She has held positions in finance and consulting, including ExxonMobil, Wood Mackenzie, and, most recently, McKinsey & Co.
Alexandra graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with dual degrees in Economics and the History of Art; she later earned her MBA from the School of Management at Yale University.
As Vice President of Sustainability and Responsible Care, Mitch Toomey is responsible for leading the strategic implementation of ACC’s world-class EHS&S performance initiative and executing the industry’s commitment to sustainability – through innovation, collaboration, and technologies that enhance the safety and environmental impacts of ACC member products and operations.
Previously, Mitch served as Director of Sustainability for BASF Corporation and also spent more than 15 years with the United Nations and UN Development Programme (UNDP), where he helped champion the United Nations global social responsibility and sustainability movement. He also led UN engagement and expert dialogues for the 2012 Rio Conference on Sustainability, launched the UNDP Innovation Facility, and served as lead author for the UNDP Knowledge Management Strategy. Prior to joining the UN, Mitch worked in the private sector building two startups.

Over the course of his career, Federico has held operational and executive positions across multiple companies and cultures in both Argentina and Spain, including YPF, Profertil, Repsol YPF, Dow Chemical, and ExxonMobil. His most recent executive roles include CEO of Profertil S.A. from 2020 to 2022 and Executive Director of Chemicals at YPF S.A. from 2018 to 2020.
Additionally, he served as a member of the Board of Directors of Profertil S.A. and MEGA S.A. between 2018 and 2020. Throughout his career, he has also held leadership roles in industry associations, including President of the Chemical and Petrochemical Industry Chamber, President of the Argentine Petrochemical Institute, Vice President of the Latin American Chemical and Petrochemical Association, and Board Member of the International Fertilizer Association.
Federico holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the National University of Mar del Plata and completed executive studies at IAE Business School.
Doctor Fairy Wang Pei is currently the vice president of Sinopec’s EDRI (Economics & Development Research Institute), an important think-tank of energy industry. She is also a professorate senior economist inside Sinopec. Before EDRI, Fairy is the head of Research and Strategy in Unipec, the trading arm of Sinopec and also the largest crude oil trading company globally. She is also responsible for carbon trading and power trading in Unipec. She has rich experience in oil & gas analysis, as well as carbon & power trading, also enjoys a very good reputation in these areas. Based in Beijing office since July 2010, Fairy has been working as a senior analyst, mainly covering oil fundamentals and providing corporate strategy for both Unipec and Sinopec top levels. Fairy is the author of many professional articles. She and her team have published China’s first Petroleum Blue Book as well. She also actively engages with market participants to ensure her research is the most relevant to the industry. Fairy holds a PhD of Economics from the Chinese Academy of Social Science (CASS) in Beijing.
